Anderton supports a variety of charities (8.10.2013)

Anderton Concrete supports a variety of charities and is proud to have been able to donate to and/or sponsor a range of events held by our customers.

So far this year these have included:

EK2M Cycle Event held in August by Kent PHK as part of a challenge they have set themselves to raise £25k for charity to mark their 25th year of trading. Taking four days, and covering an average of 75 miles a day, 15 employees of the electrical contracting and engineering firm attempted what they named the ‘Ek2M’ - East Kilbride to Mansfield. Out of the 15 riders 8 fully succeeded in the challenge and many others came very close. £10,000 was raised from the event and will be divided between John Eastwood Hospice and the Railway Children charity.

Tour de Jewson Cycle Event held from 9th to 21st September by Jewson to raise money for their charity partner Barnardo’s, who help to support the most disadvantaged, vulnerable and neglected children and their families across the UK. The cycling relay brought together Jewson staff, suppliers and customers as they cycled a total of 2500+ miles over the 13 day event.

Macmillan Coffee morning held on Friday 27th September by Carillion Rail. Pictured below is Anderton Concrete's Shaun Forrester presenting our donation to Richard Roberts of Carillion Construction Services.

As well as supporting the charity events above, which were organised by our customers, we also recently sponsored a cask of ale at a local community event hosted by Anderton Boat Lift (pictured below, near our site in Northwich).  The Beer Festival which took place on Friday 11th October and raised money for the Canal & River Trust, was a night of fine ale, accompanied by live music from local bands and a hogroast.
