Anderton supports a variety of charities (8.10.2013)
Anderton Concrete supports a variety of charities and is proud to have been able to donate to and/or sponsor a range of events held by our customers. So far this year these have included: EK2M Cycle Event held in August by Kent PHK as part of a challenge they have set themselves to raise £25k for charity to mark their 25th year of trading. Taking four days, and covering an average of 75 miles a day, 15 employees of the electrical contracting and engineering firm attempted what they named the ‘Ek2M’ - East Kilbride to Mansfield. Out of the 15 riders 8 fully succeeded in the challenge and many others came very close. £10,000 was raised from the event and will be divided between John Eastwood Hospice and the Railway Children charity.  &nbs...

Slopeloc at Barratts Homes, Wyke
Work is currently progressing well at a new Barratts Homes site in Wyke near Bradford on a large Slopeloc wall. Approximatley 270m² of blocks are being constructed at the entrance to the new site by Thomas Ben and the project features a curved element which is a first for this product. The wall was designed by PaSCoE, who are based in Preston for the contractor direct and will eventually form an impressive backdrop to the new development.

We will be promoting our range of pre-cast concrete rail products and innovative retaining wall systems again at this year's show and are pleased to be launching the following new products: 'Anderlite' our new lightweight cable route troughing system 'Ander-clip' (pictured below) and 'Ander-fin' our new cable theft deterrents Having been a member of the Rail Alliance for some time we are delighted to have secured a prominent stand space within their 'Rail Alliance Hub'. Final A380 Structure to commence (21.11.2014)
Work on the final structure using Keystone is due to commence on the A380 Kingskerswell Bypass scheme. To date Galliford Try have already used approximately 4500m² of Keystone in both Splitface and Smoothface and this final structure will take the total amount of block supplied to almost 6000m². Also known as the South Devon Link Road the 5.5km dual carriageway is vital to improving the quality of life for the local community, but also for the prosperity of businesses in the Bay and further afield across the county. Businesses will be able to rely on the road once more, making the area more attractive to new enterprise and investors, boosting the economy and providing more jobs.

InfraRail 2016
Another successful year for Anderton Concrete at Infrarail 2016 which took place at London Excel from 12-14 April and saw over 6500 attendees across the 3 days of the exhibition. The timing of this year’s Infrarail 2016 exhibition coincided well with a strengthening focus by the UK government on the long-term development of the country’s national infrastructure.  Anderton's stand featured a range of products from both the Rail and Civils Divisions within the business and drew plenty of attention. This was the largest stand in the history of exhibitions that the company has attended and reinforced Anderton's position in the UK Rail sector as the No. 1 suoplier of concrete products. Hockley Station Platform Repair Work (5.9.2013)
Platform repair work has recently been carried out at Hockley Station in Essex. This incorporated the replacement of a number of Precast Concrete Platform Trestle Slabs (front, middle and rear trestles) which were supplied by Anderton Concrete to Scott Parnell. The repair work was contracted to Hall Brothers Groundworks Ltd of Rayleigh, Essex.

CPR and CE Marking (25.6.2013)
Important information about CE MARKING Key Facts: From 1st July 2013 it will be mandatory for any construction product, covered by a harmonised European Standard (hEN) containing a 'ZA' annexe, to carry a Declaration of Performance (DoP) and a CE mark. Products not covered by hENs but with a European Technical Approval (ETA) may be CE marked. Products not falling under the scope of a hEN or ETA must not carry a CE mark. However most construction products will eventually have a harmonised European Standard. CE marking is not a 'quality' standard, it simply confirms that a product has been manufactured to a performance standard that defines the characteristics of the product.
